Ways to Purchase Heartworm Preventative

1. You can buy it from your vet. Name brand usually runs about $10 per monthly pill (depending on your dog’s weight). They may have generic options for a little less.

2. You can purchase from an online pharmacy like 1-800-PetMeds or similar. It might save you a few dollars and a trip to the vet. You will need to enter the vet information so they can get the prescription verified.

3. We use Petbucket.com and found it is the cheapest for preventives. Because it ships from out of the country, they do not require a prescription, but we found name brand costs about half the price than what we can get from the vet and generics are even less than that. PLUS you will get a 10% discount when you use this referral code PBK12656268 and METTA will also receive a $5 credit! Just remember to always place your order a month before you need it because shipping takes several weeks.
