Congratulations on making the decision to add a furry friend to your family! It’s a big step and we want to thank you for considering our rescue and making an impact within our community. Your commitment and love will change a life forever as well as make room for a new animal to join METTA!

Steps to finding your new best friend:

STEP 1: Screening Form

Our goal is to guide your family through the adoption process, helping to find the perfect match for your household. To start his process, we ask that you fill out an adoption application. This will help us to see which personalizes will fit in your home.

STEP 2: Home/Reference Check

METTA animals are part of our family, so we do everything we can to ensure they are going to a great home. This includes a reference check and home check. The home check is quick and painless. Our volunteer coordinator will be in contact with you to set up a time that works for you and our volunteer.

STEP 3: Meet & Greet

Once you have decided which one of our lucky dogs you’re interested in meeting, we coordinate with the current foster to set up a meet and greet that is convenient for everyone. We do require all family members be present and all other pets be introduced prior to any adoption.

STEP 4: Contract

If METTA, the foster, and your family agree that it’s a match made in heaven, we will collect a signed contract by all family members and the adoption donation. There is a mandatory 2-week trial before the adoption is finalized. At this point, we will announce the adoption on our social media sites and add to the Happy Tails website page.
